I am Shannon Woolard and I am one of the Wichita State University students participating in the Strings, Kansas! Program. This is my second full year of majoring in both violin performance as well as music education. I currently study violin with Nancy Luttrell. I have been playing the violin for 10 years and have been in the WSU Symphony Orchestra for about 2 years. Katie Horton and I are super excited to be working with everyone involved, especially Pratt!
I work part-time as a lifeguard in the Heskett Center on campus as well as in Derby at the Rec. Center, which is where I grew up. I also teach a few private violin lessons. I have an older sister, Kristen, who is a cosmetologist and just got married about a year ago to a mechanic named Brian. My little brother, Glenn, is a senior in high school and plays the drums on Derby's drumline.
