Katie Horton
Hello!!! My name is Katie Horton. I'm 21 years old and I'm a senior in music education. I play the cello in the WSU Symphony Orchestra, and I study under Jakub Omsky.
I've been playing the cello for about 11 years. I played for eight years in the Derby school district, and for five years in the Wichita Symphony Youth Orchestras. I've taken private lessons on the cello since middle school, and also play a little bit of guitar and piano.
In my spare time I like to go to concerts and to see the Wichita Symphony. I love movies, especially comedies, and reading books. (Harry Potter is one of my favorites!!)
I work two jobs outside of school - as a waitress at Adrian's Restaurant, and I work lunches at Creative Catering and Cafe.
I am excited to be working with the students in Pratt, along with my friend Shannon Woolard (a violinist). I can't wait to come out and meet everyone!!
