Hi, my name is Andrew Book and I am Junior at Wichita State majoring in Music Education and Double Bass Performance. I am currently studying bass with Mark Foley, as well as playing in the Wichita State Symphony Orchestra, Salina Symphony, Hutchinson Symphony, Lindsborg Symphony, and I play bass occasionally at weddings and parties with a few of my friends. My hometown is in Salina where I began the double bass infourth grade with Mrs. Higbee. I also studied music privately with Teresa Hernandez, Gary Monsanto, and Eric Stein. Most recently though, Itraveled toVictoria,British Columbia to study the double bass for theentire monthJuly 2007 withGary Karr, one of the most famous musicians to ever play the instrument! Some of my interests include: Guitar Hero, movies, recording music, turtles, and building pump stations on military bases.
I am very excited to be a member of Strings, Kansas! and I look forward to working with all of you!
