Some of the entries will surprise you, as this is not strictly covering popular breakbeats. In fact, I&#8217;m not sure I saw the &#8220;Amen&#8221; groove listed at all. There are some very interesting selections from Conlon Nancarrow to Varese. There are also some surprises such as Ligeti&#8217;s <em>Atmospheres</em>, which is essentially arhythmic. The article dates back to 1992, but they&#8217;re still as relevant as ever.</p>
