Steve’s Stuff

Steve Wilson (b. 1982) is a composer of electronic music and a percussionist from Iowa City, Iowa. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Iowa and a Master of Music degree from Wichita State University both in percussion performance. Along the way, Steve has done extensive research in contemporary electronic music (such as Autechre and Aphex Twin), aesthetics (particularly Adorno), postmodern philosophy, and film theory. Each of these areas are synthesized in his compositional output. He has written works for percussion, but the majority of his compositions are entirely synthetic and are released under his electronic music project, Liquid Sunshine. When Steve isn’t composing or gigging, he’s probably reading Deleuze or watching cheesy exploitation movies.
