Reflection Paper for Team [Dont Worry Be Harpy]: Visit of [04/30/2014]

What we did and how we did it:

On my last visit to the maize, i and richard were having trouble with the pitchshifter pd sketch as we mentioned in our weekly report. For some reason, we had downloaded the very pitchshifter pd sketch from cratel, but when we entered small numbers for the pitch effect to take place, nothing would happen. Only when we entered numbers greater than 600, the sketch seems to respond but not quite the way we wanted. So we asked Mr. John Harrison to help us with the sketch on this visit to maize. He seem to have magic hands and some pd magic, that when he laid his hands on the sketch, and made some changes, pitchshifter came to life and worked well. Unfortunately, however, there was a twist to this story. For some reason, it did not save in Richards flash drive which we only found out when we came back home.

Richard went back again on 7th to maize and over there he and Mr. John worked on this again and on some files to work with wav files.

For the next visit, it would be better if:

This was my last visit to maize, and if i would have gone, i would have done the same thing, what richard asked and did with the help of Mr. Harrison.

Reflection Paper for Team Dubstep Violin: Visit of 05/30/14

What we did and how we did it:

Our last visit we checked up with how Isabella was doing and then joined the Maize group in the work day. We finalized our patch and started messing with our violin and it worked! after needing John’s help about 3 times our patch was finally working and 2 of the 4 effects worked flawlessly. The patch should be finished by Friday.

For the next visit, it would be better if:

Next visit is the last visit so there’s not much i can think of us improving. Just make sure to have a successful work day.

The students are:

The students definitely seem to be understanding pd. I am not sure how far all the students are, but i know our student, Isabella, is basically done with her project. She just needed one more aurduino to get all her notes to play. Her project reminds me of  an electronic piano with violin sounds which is very impressive and looks like it took a very long time. As always, the students are very impressive.

Other:

There’s not much I can think of adding other than hoping everyone does well on the 9th.
