People with Cerebral Palsy have ongoing challenges, such as impaired balance and muscle control. During our first visit to the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation, we have the opportunity to meet with the residents and communicate with them. After our meeting, we felt compassion and we wanted to do something for them. As we were gathering their needs and what can help them the most, we saw the potential need for the table that is attached to the chair which will give people with disabilities more freedom. It will also help to alleviate the pain of having somebody setting up and removing a table for them each time.


The purpose of this project is to help residents of the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation by designing an automated, retractable table. The table will be attached to the wheelchair and can be customized to fit any body sizes such as children and adults. The motor and linear actuator is used to move and retract the table which will be controlled by the power supply. The code will be written for Arduino microcontroller to design the movement of the table.  The table can be used for many purposes where people can place their electronic devices while working  as well as it can be used as a food table.
